Sticking doors, broken hinges, drawer runners, a shelf that fell — the jobs a house collects.
Most carpentry in a lived-in home is an hour's work: a door that has dropped, a drawer runner that has gone, a wardrobe door off its hinge, a shelf that needs putting up properly. Maltese guides put that at €25 to €50 an hour with a one-hour minimum on the first visit, which is the band the calculator carries, and warn that anyone quoting under €25 an hour is either under-costing or uninsured.
Out of hours — a front door that will not lock on a Sunday night — is on the higher band. Materials are on top and agreed before they are bought.
The bands are Maltese guides' hourly rates for small carpentry and handyman work in 2026, with a one-hour minimum on a first visit. Materials are extra.
| Job | Unit | Band | What is in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carpentry repair or small job | per hour | €25 – €50 | sticking doors, broken hinges, drawer runners; one-hour minimum on a first visit |
| Hang a door you supply | per door | €35 – €100 | one to two hours at the small-jobs rate, existing frame |
| Flat-pack assembly | per hour | €35 – €50 | wardrobes, beds, desks; one-hour minimum |
| Out-of-hours call-out | per hour | €60 – €100 | Sundays, public holidays, late nights |
A band, not a quote: the low end is a straightforward job with clear access, the high end is the same job with the complications a site visit finds. Materials are included where the line says so.

You deal with us, not with the workshop. We measure, we quote a fixed price, we bring in a joiner from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and we stand behind the work. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.
