Internal doors

Made-to-measure leaves, frames and architraves for one room or a whole property.

A joiner fitting an internal door in a Maltese apartment

A door in Malta is rarely a standard size. Openings in a shell are whatever the builder left, which is why most Maltese doors are made to measure, and why the price of a leaf at a retailer — €169 to €479, with one solid-timber model in that range — is only half the story. The frame, the architraves, the ironmongery and the fitting are the other half, and Maltese workshops quote that rather than publish it.

For a whole property the calculator prices doors per square metre of floor area from turnkeymalta.com's rate card, so the figure reconciles with the same line inside a fit-out budget there. For a single door we quote after measuring; for a door you have bought, hanging it is a priced small job.

What this covers

What it costs

For a whole property the calculator uses turnkeymalta.com's shell-form line for internal doors, per square metre of floor area by specification. A single supplied-and-fitted door is quoted after measuring; hanging a door you supply is on the small-jobs band.

Per square metre of internal floor area. A villa or house carries a ×1.15 uplift for the longer runs and the external work. These are the same figures the calculator uses, because there is only one rate card — and they are the lines turnkeymalta.com uses for the same trade inside a whole-property budget.

How it works

You deal with us, not with the workshop. We measure, we quote a fixed price, we bring in a joiner from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and we stand behind the work. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.

Questions people ask

Are internal doors CE marked?
External doorsets must be, under EN 14351-1. The internal doorset standard, EN 14351-2, is not harmonised, so internal doors carry no CE obligation — a CE mark on one is marketing, not law.
How long does a made-to-measure door take?
Maltese workshops typically quote a couple of weeks from measuring to fitting; retailers deliver stock leaves in about ten days.
